Sometimes when you are stuck and you don't know how to proceed,
all that you need is a shepherd’s walking stick.
Interview with The Shepherd
Interviewer:
Good afternoon, everyone. Today, we have a remarkable guest joining us. He is born leader, leading countless heads to follow him through the mountains every year, he is caretaker that cares and directs everyone in the group to follow the correct path through the dangerous forest, specialist with the walking stick that accompanies him on all of its journeys, whether for protection, support, or to enhance his wisdom. Please welcome our esteemed guest, The Shepherd.
The Shepherd (smiling):
Those are some big words for introduction I am but a simple shepherd. Thank you for having me. It's a pleasure to be here.
Interviewer:
It's an honor to have you with us. Could you share a bit about your journeys and travels as a Shepherd?
The Shepherd:
Certainly. But that will take long time and as I understand we don’t have such time.
I can tell you a story of bringing new born lamb into the world, I can tell you exactly what makes the cheese good or bad or I can tell you how to fend off a wolf attack - aaah yes, I see your eyes flared a bit on the last one, but you will have to come by the campfire to hear that one, its not for this interview
Interviewer:
Ok, keep it a secret. I will get it sooner or later.
The Shepherd (moving his hand on the walking stick):
I know you will.

Interviewer:
What does it take to become a shepherd? Is there a special skill or mind set one needs to possess?
The Shepherd:
Well, I would say that you need to be a guide, in order to lead your flock safely to go to the path without straying from the flock. the domestic sheep are not meant to live in the wild, as there are other dangers that are lurking in it. So, I would say a good shepherd is an excellent reader of character, we always know when certain sheep will do something based on their individual traits. Once I had a sheep that left the flock and... – Ah I forgot short on time. Another skill that shepherd must have been the ability to learn from the experience and use that to do the correct decisions. But a skill that is essential for a shepherd is storytelling.
Interviewer:
Storytelling?
The Shepherd:
Indeed, I get the same reaction from everyone when I say this. Story telling is crucial, if you can tell a story, you can analyze and figure out what happened, and most importantly, you can pass on knowledge and experience to other.

Interviewer:
Ah so passing the knowledge to the future generation of shepherds.
The Shepherd:
No, bad conclusion again. The skills and the mindset I have described above you will find in any good leader. Good leader knows how to guide its people, he read and knows their capabilities and how to best utilize them or react when needed. He also needs experience or at least the skill to learn from the situations. But all of it is meaningless if he can’t communicate his leadership to his people.
Interviewer:
That’s something I did not picked up. Something I will think trough later. Moving to the next question. Your walking stick. Can you tell us more about its significance and why do you need/use it?
The Shepherd:
This walking stick is a majestic and revered magical instrument, a symbol of wisdom, authority, and mystical power give to me as a Gift from the mighty forest of the mountain. She took a branch from very old tree of wisdom, then the mighty wind blows it down the mountain waterfall that hammered and shaped it in its current excellence you see in front of you. This walking stick allows me to control the animals in the forest.

Interviewer:
You are messing with me again with your storytelling aren’t you.
The Shepherd (smiling):
Ok yes, a bit. But I did not speak untrue words. I do use it to impose my wisdom and authority over the sheep that I lead, or defend myself from wolves should they decide to attack us. So, I would say that it controls the animals.

Interviewer:
Your words are truly inspiring and somewhat puzzling. If you could share one message with our viewers, what would it be?
The Shepherd:
People today don’t listen to the old stories, and if they do, they don’t learn from them.
So, I what I want to say is, if you need guidance or advice look it up in the old tales.

Interviewer:
Beautifully said. Thank you for gracing us with your thoughts and insight.
The Shepherd:
The pleasure is mine. I wish you well and I expect a story from you next time we meet.
Interviewer:
Count on it.
A good story is like a walking stick, it can help you walk trough your life, or it can hit you in the face with the truth.
